Just as we are starting to get really excited about spring here at Tuckahoe, with crocus and daffodils popping up, we get 5 inches of heavy snow!
There was little to no tree damage, regardless of heavy winds, thanks to the arborists who finished their pruning just before the snow, and the Snow was absolutely beautiful. The newest dog at Tuckahoe was a huge fan! The little pup was not the only one loving the snow. All of the seeds in the ground are loving the moisture, and should be showing their sprouts as soon as we can see the ground again.
With sweet peas and spring veggies on the horizon, and winter clean-up almost finished, Historic Garden Week here we come!
My friend and I went and visited your plantation today June 7, 2021. A woman named Carolyn came out to meet us and offered to take us around on a golf cart because my friend could barely get around with a very sore knee. We just want you to know we were incredibly impressed by her generosity, kindness and knowledge of Tuckahoe plantation. If you do not normally provide this service, you should consider it. It was truly appreciated by both of us. She was extremely friendly and we were impressed by her. We loved our tour and we loved our plantation. But without her we would’ve never known some of the facts about your plantation. She was incredible.
