Generac (also known as Gen) was an enslaved worker at Tuckahoe during the Wight and Allen period. He is thought to have been born sometime between 1831-1833. His name first appears on the inventory of the will of Edwin Wight in April 1850 alongside his brothers Wallace and Ed Smith. The three brothers are listed again in Joseph Allen’s account in July of that year as field hands. Shortly thereafter, his brother,Wallace ran away from Tuckahoe and his brother, Ed began a family with Ellen Anderson.
