Amy was an enslaved worker at Tuckahoe during the Allen period. She is thought to have been born around 1821. She was married to a man named Tom Anderson and the couple had at least 5 children while enslaved at Tuckahoe: Maria, Abner, Philip, Cornelius, and Willis. All of the family members were listed as field hands. While Amy was pregnant with her youngest son (Willis), her son Abner died of unknown causes in 1859. He would have been about 13 years old.
After the Civil War, it seems that some of the Anderson family stayed in the area. Based on information from the Goochland County Cohabitation Register, it seems that Amy died sometime before 1866.
