On the west side of Plantation Street is the Old Stable. Originally it had a large central fireplace and chimney, which lead historians to believe that it may have originally served as a blacksmithing shop and even a dwelling at one point. After the Civil War the chimney was taken down and the ceiling lowered with a loft added, to convert it to a stable. In 1993 it was renovated to serve as a meeting hall. In the 19th century shed additions were constructed at either end to serve more modern purposes. Step inside to see a museum space with a timeline of the history of Tuckahoe throughout the centuries.
