The almost mile long dirt road leading up to the Main House is presumably the same cedar lined lane that Thomas Jefferson and George Washington traveled upon their first visits to Tuckahoe. Trees have been replaced over the years as older ones died off, but we think it looks today much as it would have looked at the end of the 17th century.
